I have been at Spectrum Aeromed since 2011 so I’ve had some time to dive in to the company culture and really analyze what makes us unique.
One of the things that attracted me to Spectrum Aeromed, is that it’s a small company that operates in a big way. We currently have 27 employees and we don’t aim to grow those numbers, but we’re looking to grow in other ways: we are always looking for ways to get better at what we do. Our smaller size allows a lot of agility with customizing project and products customers need.
Another great aspect of our company is that we have great relationships with the FAA offices in Minneapolis and Chicago. We send a lot of projects to their desks and they recognize our work.
Another way Spectrum Aeromed operates like a much larger company is by our AS9100C certification. This certifies that our business practices meet international standards, and shows that we can deliver high quality products in a consistent manner. We put processes in place to ensure this, which can be seen as unusual for a company of our size. We maintain this certification year to year, and when large companies call us the first thing they want to know is if we are AS9100C certified, and we are proud to say yes. It gives our customers around the world confidence that we will follow through on what we promise.
Our company could be located anywhere around the world, but we choose to be headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota. The engineering department at North Dakota State University helps produce many of our employees. Our people grew up on farms so they have a strong North Dakota work ethic and a desire to assemble things by hand. Instead of working on a farm, they are assembling high quality air medical equipment.
We are a small organization with big ideas and big processes; we play on the world stage and we’re respected there and that is something that makes me proud to see. We’re so focused on growing and serving customers to be the best provider of air ambulance equipment in the world.
