Summary:
An engineer at Spectrum Aeromed is responsible for design, drafting, and structural analysis of the manufactured products. Engineers also write the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following – Other duties may be assigned
- Three-dimensional modeling and drafting of all parts and assemblies to be manufactured by our company.
- Calculating and writing stress analysis reports for all equipment to be STC approved.
- Creating assembly instructions within the equipment drawings and assisting shop personnel in manufacturing.
- Writing reports for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in our STC approval process.
- Working with the entire engineering team on each project, coordinating and communicating throughout the project life cycle.
- Support and comply with the professionalism standards established by Spectrum Aeromed management.
- Support and comply with the safety requirements and standards.
Education and/or Experience:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering.
- CAD software proficiency, specifically 3D modeling and drafting in Autodesk Inventor and Cadkey.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English effectively
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Senior Quality Assurance Associate / Lean Practitioner
Job Status: Full-time
Summary:
The Senior Quality Assurance Associate / Lean Practitioner will assist in all areas of the Quality Assurance department along with identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements throughout the organization. This individual will need excellent attention to detail, communication skills with the ability to understand industry regulations, purchase orders and engineering drawings. Adhere to FAA guidelines for approved air ambulance equipment within the AS9100 Quality Management System.
Competency:
Competency will be assessed by the department manager at the end of the probationary period utilizing essential duties and responsibilities specific to their job description. Employee competency will be indicated on the employee evaluation form. If competency in essential duties and responsibilities is not met, the department manager will document and set an appropriate probationary period for re-evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following – Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluate current processes and implement improvements while working with department leaders – Receive and inspect parts, sub-assemblies, completed assemblies for conformity to approved design.
- Interpret Spectrum Aeromed Engineers’ assembly drawings.
- Coordinate with the Production and Purchasing Manager on Make/Buy decisions.
- Assist with the evaluation of vendor capabilities, their quality process, and direct engagement with vendors on process improvements.
- Analyze Purchase Orders against packing slips and update with material certification details.
- Generate Work Orders, Engineer Drawing requests and Travelers for production.
- Inspect, identify, and tag all parts and components via Drawing Tree and Drawing Lists.
- Identify process improvements and implement changes in the Quality and Production system.
- Assist in the maintenance of the calibration programs for all inspection tools.
- Identify conforming and non-conforming piece parts and assemblies.
- Use various pieces of measuring equipment (i.e. tape measure, caliper).
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Maintain strong collaborative partnerships with Production and Engineering.
- Support and comply with the professionalism standards established by Spectrum Aeromed management.
- Support and comply with the safety requirements and standards.
- Submit Continuous Improvement Ideas about products and processes.
- Maintain a high level of quality in your day to day work.
- Participate in companywide committees such as Safety, Wellness, and Continuous Improvement.
- Understand and Support the Spectrum Aeromed Core Values and Quality Policy.
Education and/or Experience:
- 5 Years experience in a Quality Assurance Role.
- Manufacturing Experience a plus – High school diploma; or GED.
- Knowledge of assembly and computer skills.
- Background in Aviation a plus.
- Upon 1 year of job completion obtain FAA qualification for issuance of 8130-3 tags.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, procedures, safety rules, and equipment instructions.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, division, fractions and decimals
