Now Hiring:
Engineer
Job Status: Full-time

Summary:

Spectrum Aeromed is seeking an experienced Engineer with a strong aviation background to support the design, analysis, and certification of aircraft medical solutions. Engineers in this role work on real‑world aviation problems where requirements are not always clean and solutions require holistic, root‑cause thinking.

This position offers wide variety and technical depth. Engineers are expected to learn and apply multiple facets of engineering—including design, structural analysis, electrical and pneumatic systems, manufacturing, certification, customer interaction, and field service. While FAA documentation and reports are an important part of the job, engineering here is not limited to writing reports all day. The work blends focused individual effort with hands‑on collaboration and problem‑solving across the organization.

This role is well‑suited for engineers who enjoy learning, ownership, and seeing their work fly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the design and development of parts and assemblies from concept through release.
  • Perform and author structural stress analyses supporting STC certification.
  • Dive into unclear or “muddy” problems, identify root causes, and engineer practical, certifiable solutions.
  • Develop clear engineering documentation and assembly instructions to support manufacturing.
  • Prepare and support FAA certification reports and technical documentation, recognizing that focused report work is a necessary part of the role.
  • Collaborate across disciplines—including electrical, pneumatic, manufacturing, and field service considerations—to ensure solutions work in real aircraft environments.
  • Interact with customers and field service to understand product performance and drive continuous improvement.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience
  • CAD software proficiency, specifically 3D modeling and drafting in Autodesk Inventor and Cadkey
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with aircraft systems, aviation products, or aerospace manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and aerospace technologies.
  • Familiarity with aviation certification and regulatory processes.
