FARGO, ND — Spectrum Aeromed is excited to announce new positions on its engineering team focused on better serving our customers and stakeholders.
To support the company’s continuing and expanded focus on new air medical solutions, Justin Mahler has accepted the new role of Vice President of Design and Certification. John Kostrzewski was promoted to Director of Engineering.

Mahler has been with Spectrum Aeromed since 2005 and also serves as the company’s Designated Engineering Representative working with the Federal Aviation Administration. In his new role of Vice President of Design and Certification, he will be able to apply his deep technical knowledge of our product line to serve as a liaison between the sales and engineering teams, customers, and certifying bodies.
“This new structure will help us partner more effectively with our customers and team members”, said Chase McCown, President. “Justin’s adept skill set and background in certification will allow us to efficiently continue to expand our Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) offerings with new designs.”
Kostrzewski has been with Spectrum Aeromed since 2021 as an Engineer. He came to the company with 17 years of experience with technology leaders like NASA and Cirrus Aircraft and has a very well-rounded background in manufacturing and mechanical engineering. As Director of Engineering, Kostrzewski will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the engineering team.
